My Story

I began practicing acupuncture because it’s a medicine that seemed to be able to address issues I never knew could be helped. Namely, trauma, resentment, stuckness and even creative blockages. A dear friend of mine gave me a treatment one day after I broke down to her about my frustrations with writing an autobiographical show. I was having complete and total writers block and hated the character I had created based on myself. Following the treatment I said out loud “I feel different…” and she advised I continue treatment with a practitioner in NY where I was living.

After being treated for a just few weeks with 5 element acupuncture, I felt a major breakthrough; letting go of all kinds of emotional and spiritual strife I’d been unable to shed. I finished the play I was working on and within the year, decided to go to acupuncture school.

It felt like I had finally found the thing that brought it all together for me: my love of science, art, connection, medicine and creativity. I opened up to the connectivity of the world in a whole new way and felt more able to engage in a life that was meaningful.

I earned my master’s degree at The Academy for 5 Element Acupuncture 3 years later.

I’ve been practicing this medicine for nearly 15 years and continue to be in awe of how well it works, how grounded it is and at the same time expansive. Watching my clients come alive and thrive in ways that seemed unimaginable is an absolute honor. I love it.

I look forward to working with you soon.
